So, I saw The Half-Blood Prince this morning and I wanted to make a coherent, sosphisticated post on it, but all I seem to be able to come up with is this:

Yay, Malfoys!! The cane! The CANE! Did you see the cane?!?

Oh, Draco. He made this movie for me <3

Aha! I think that has to be my favourite scene. A crowning moment of awesome as far as I'm concerned (it was sweet, can't help but grin when I think of it)

(I'm rather proud that I managed to contain my fangirly exclamation of joy until after the credits, at which point I exploded with 'He had his cane! He had his cane! Oh my god, he had his cane'. Thankfully my sister is well aware of the fact that I am a rampantly pro-Malfoycest, and humored me by going 'That was Lucius' cane? Awwwww, really' and nodding along as I flailed my way out of the cinema)

Aw, your sister is sweet! I'd have loved to go with someone who shares my Malfoy infatuation (or just indulge me while I squee) ;) I went with my best friend, wo does get my Lucius love to some degree, thankfully. But she doesn't like Tom, which is very sad, because he impersonates the most perfect Draco one could wish for, imo. And now with added cane! Yes, I loved that they had that in.

And she's one of the few people I met who can keep her senses together when listening to Alan Rickman. Which I absolutely can't. I go out of focus, and into several very happy places when he talks *grins* Can't wait for the DVD! Though his German voice is very similar in speaking patterns and the like... there's nothing like the original Sexiest Voice Alive ;)

Uh, no... I didn't get carried away right now, why do you ask? *grins again and slinks off to listen to some Alan goodness*

Yes, well, considering that she also reads slashfic, we've come to the mutal conclusion that there is no point throwing stones where rabid fangirling is concerned (although we do still rip eachother out over it, because that's just what you do, y'know?). She knew what she was getting herself into when she agreed to go.

-coughs- And now I have to admit that, most of the time, I am unaffected by Alan Rickman's voice. Of course, that being said sometimes it completely blindsides me and I just turn into goo. There must be some sort of subtle difference between it being meltifying and just being, well... a voice. For instance, when I was watching Sweeny Todd I'd spend half the time going 'mmmm, god, that voice' and yet in most of the Harry Potter movies I'm just 'yep, okay, there's Snape'. As far as voices that do consistently get to me go, I can't listen to Jason Isaacs without going to a happy place (particuarly Tavington... I mean, seriously), and then there's Jack Davenport, and probably more that I can't remember right at this very moment.

I think one of the reasons why I liked this movie so much is that I regard it as something entirely seperate from the book (I have to in order to keep my sanity intact). Thus, the missing scenes and added bits don't annoy me. It's just... visual fanfiction.

First: I like your icon. It speaks the truth.

Hmm... considering I fell in love when I first listened to the "Stoppered Death" speach, and the way it hit me like the proverbial train at the time... I might be projecting whenever Snape has a line ;) I think it depends on the length. Give him some sort of a monologue, and you fall right in.

Sweeney Todd - oh yeah. The Book Scene, as I call it... just, guh. Let me tell you: I saw one trailer, with this scene in it, and that's why I went and got the DVDE asap *ahem* Having Helena is a very nice bonus. And brilliant Mr. Depp never hurts the eye, either ;) Still... Alan. I'm planning to dld every audiobook he did when my new comp's ready. So if you don't see me around for quite some time - that's why *grin*

As for Jason: of course he gives me the shivers whenever I hear Lucius. But I think it's the complete package what gets to me there *holds 'More Lucius!' sign* And he has the hand bonus: he's a strong #2 on my "hand porn" list (#1 being Colin Farrell) - and I rarely add someone at all ;)

So, in conclusion: if Snape had been present and talking when Lucius held that prophecy... I'd be long dead by now ;)

"So, in conclusion: if Snape had been present and talking when Lucius held that prophecy... I'd be long dead by now ;)"

So I assume I am not alone in praying desperately for those two to have a scene in DH? Even if they are just together at the Charity Burbage table decoration scene... Luicus and Snape MUST be onscreen together in this next movie... and if they actually play OFF each other? Just.. I'll be too ecstatic to speak and will probably go see it much more than usual.

I admit I never liked Draco before this film much but he totally sold me on the character this time. Felton rocked. I just wish there could have been more Snape. (And a scene of Lucius in jail would have made me squee out loud in the theater.)

I love the concept that the films are just visual fanfiction... I love that. It makes them easier to take and enjoy, thanks for the person that said that!

Clare
